KPMG IT Service OOD is an IT service provider with a mission to digitalize the core business of KPMG IT Service GmbH and KPMG AG in Germany and their clients across the globe. We employ around 200 people in Sofia and deliver the full spectrum of IT services to our clients, including Software Engineering, Application & Platform Operations, Infrastructure and Cloud, and Digital Process Compliance.
Our Applications Unit is securing the stable operation, application support and ongoing development of approximately 300 applications for KPMG Germany.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead complex data and technology initiatives from requirements and solution definition through implementation and production delivery.
In this role, you will combine strong project management expertise with a solid understanding of software and data environments. You will work closely with Data Engineering, Architecture, Business Analysis, and business stakeholders, contributing not only to successful delivery but also to the definition of data products, onboarding of new use cases, and development of solution concepts.
As a Senior Technical Project Manager, your focus will be to:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, quality, dependencies, and risks
- Drive projects and data initiatives from requirements and solution definition through implementation and production
- Facilitate requirements engineering, including stakeholder workshops, requirements analysis, backlog management, and user story creation
- Actively contribute to the definition of data products, data use cases, and solution concepts, connecting business objectives with technical implementation
- Drive the onboarding of new data sources, use cases, and data products in line with the platform roadmap
- Coordinate project resources across Data Engineering, Architecture, Business Analysis, and business teams, supporting effective capacity planning and prioritization
- Manage dependencies and integrations with related programs, enterprise architecture initiatives, governance functions, and operational platforms
- Support architectural decision-making and ensure alignment with relevant enterprise, data governance, security, and compliance requirements
- Act as the central coordination point between technical teams, business stakeholders, leadership, and external contributors
- Identify, track, and proactively address risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery impediments
- Facilitate testing, business acceptance, release planning, and production deployments
- Work with Azure DevOps/TFS for requirements, backlogs, delivery tracking, reporting, and project transparency
- Provide clear reporting on project status, delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and resource utilization
- Support high-quality service delivery through effective resource, process, and performance management
- Coordinate changes and ensure that relevant project activities and decisions are appropriately documented
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve project and delivery processes
What you bring:
- University degree in IT, Business, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager and/or Scrum Master with direct involvement in software or technology project delivery
- Proven experience managing complex projects involving multiple technical and business stakeholders
- Experience with data platform-related projects
- Strong understanding of project management, service delivery, and process improvement
- Practical experience with requirements engineering, backlog management, and user stories
- Experience coordinating software development and/or data-focused technical teams
- Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps/TFS, including project tracking, reporting, and dashboards
- Experience with Agile delivery and cross-team coordination, ideally within scaled frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS
- Familiarity with additional Agile methodologies and practices such as Kanban, XP, Crystal, or DSDM
- Experience supporting or coordinating releases within Agile and/or DevOps environments
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to navigate complex dependencies
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and negotiation skills
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving blockers, risks, and conflicts
- Ability to manage several priorities in a dynamic environment
- High level of accountability, integrity, and ownership
- Fluent English, written and spoken
A significant advantage:
- Project management experience with Databricks-related initiatives
- Databricks product knowledge and/or hands-on experience
- PMP or another recognized project management certification
- German language skills
