Position overview:
We are looking for a proactive and versatile Scrum Master who will guide Agile teams to deliver high-quality software products and services while also taking ownership of project management tasks. This hybrid role demands a leader who can facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments swiftly, coordinate release management activities, and contribute directly to project execution and change management initiatives. The ideal candidate will blend Agile facilitation with strong project coordination skills to drive alignment, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Agile Facilitation
- Coach and support one or more Agile teams in applying Scrum and Agile practices to improve delivery.
- Lead all key Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives).
- Foster a culture of transparency, team ownership, and continuous learning.
- Facilitate Sprint Retrospectives to gather actionable feedback from the team and stakeholders.
- Translate retrospective insights into concrete actions that improve team performance, delivery practices, and collaboration.
- Continuously monitor and follow up on improvement actions to ensure progress and accountability.
2. Project Management
- Take ownership of selected project management tasks, ensuring alignment with key milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Act as the central point of coordination between development teams, stakeholders, and external contributors.
- Contribute to planning and execution of project timelines, budgets, and resourcing as needed.
3. Blocker & Risk Management
- Actively identify, track, and remove blockers that impede team progress.
- Escalate issues where necessary while working cross-functionally to resolve bottlenecks quickly and efficiently.
- Monitor risks and dependencies, ensuring mitigation plans are in place and executed.
4. Change & Release Management
- Collaborate with change and release management teams to ensure well-coordinated and documented releases.
- Take ownership of specific change management tasks such as approvals, communications, documentation, or coordination with stakeholders.
- Ensure releases align with organizational processes and compliance requirements.
5. Team Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner closely with Product Owners to maintain a clear, prioritized backlog and refine upcoming work.
- Track and report Agile metrics (velocity, sprint burndown, release health) to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support cross-team planning and alignment within scaled Agile environments or multi-team programs.
6. Required Skills & Qualifications
- Agile Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience of Scrum and Agile frameworks.
- Impediment Resolution: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset for identifying and removing blockers quickly.
- Release Coordination: Experience supporting or managing the release lifecycle within Agile and/or DevOps environments.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage tasks, timelines, and dependencies; familiarity with traditional and Agile PM methodologies.
- Communication & Facilitation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to facilitate meetings, workshops, and negotiations across teams.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to foster trust and collaboration among team members, leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Skilled in Agile project management tools (Azure DevOps); capable of creating reports and dashboards to track progress.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities and high-impact deliverables.
What you bring in:
- University degree (Bachelor or Master) in IT or business-related discipline.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or similar certification.
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master with direct involvement in software project delivery and coordination.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar project management certification.
- Experience with scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS) and cross-team coordination.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, release pipelines, and DevOps environments.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-heavy industries.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
- Personal accountability, ethics, and trustworthiness.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing environment is a must.
- Teamwork, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Fluent English (written and verbal).
